The OHealth H1
A 6-in-1 health monitor
How does it work?
Mostly known for its smartphones and smart devices, OPPO has integrated its expertise in high-precision sensors, health monitoring algorithms, cloud computing technology, and more inside the compact 95-gram device. Sensors within the H1 can measure heart rate, body temperature, blood oxygen levels, and heart and lung auscultation. It also includes an electrocardiogram (ECG) function which collects data from users’ fingertips. The device doesn't require a phone for operation. For example, it can be placed near a child's forehead to take a temperature reading with 0.2 °C accuracy. Vital signs are displayed on the front of the device. Its no-contact sensor technology also allows for sleep tracking at a distance of up to 7.9 inches. The H1 can sync with the OHealth app, where health data for the entire family can be stored and shared with doctors in real time for remote consultation. The H1 was unveiled last year and displayed on MWC23, with plans for a commercial launch in progress.
Why is it needed?
Covid-19 and other epidemics have put healthcare at the forefront of public attention in the past several years. It’s not uncommon to hear devastating stories of people missing out on early treatment because they were unaware of underlying health issues, or people living in more remote parts of the world unable to properly protect themselves due to inequalities in the medical system. Although OPPO has been developing its Smart Health technology for several years, it wanted to do more to make sure stories such as these are the exception rather than the norm. OPPO believes that preventive healthcare and telemedicine are one of the answers to creating a healthier future for all, which is where the idea for the OHealth H1 Family Health Monitor came from. As part of a holistic approach to promoting good health and preventing disease, the H1 provides one-stop, smart, and convenient health management solutions and acts as a bridge to better healthcare between users, hospitals, and clinics.
How does it improve life?
The OHealth H1 uses advanced technologies to provide effective, everyday healthcare services. Despite its small size and simplicity, it has the potential to solve healthcare inequalities around the world. Data recorded by the H1 can be used to help diagnose illnesses, provide treatment suggestions, and connect people with medical professionals to help protect them from disease before its onset. For those living in more remote areas, the H1’s data helps them better understand their health and can help save lives through accurate diagnosis when professional services are unavailable. Over the long run, the H1 makes it easier than ever to form healthy habits. Unlike the cold, mechanical designs of traditional medical equipment, the H1 is super light and portable. It can be used to integrate regular health measurements into daily routines in an unintrusive way. By making users more willing to pick up the H1 and learn from its data, the H1 helps lead a healthier life.
