FI-CO Fingers Counting
A pair of gloves that allows children with dyscalculia to learn, understand and memorize math
Children start learning the multiplication table from the second grade, and FI-CO is a useful tool with which children play as they learn. For children with dyscalculia, FI-CO makes it easier to memorise arithmetic calculations and multiplication tables and to relieve stress and anxiety related to homework.
The gloves have both fixed and changeable stitched numbers. The fixed numbers (from 1 to 10) are positioned on the back of the hand. On the palm of the hand, there is the result of the multiplication, that is on an interchangeable layer. Of this layer, there are 10 versions with the results.
It's scientifically proven that finger counting can help the brain memorise better and this process is particularly useful, especially for children with dyscalculia. This project is made for children from 7 to 10 years of age.
