Acoustic panel made from textile waste
oday we burn around 80% of all the waste that is collected directly at homes. By recycling more, we can prolong the useful life of many of the materials that otherwise would be wasted. Plastic currently comprises 12% of the total waste collected from Danish homes, and with approx. 2.5 million tons of household waste, a lot of valuable resources are being incinerated. At Lendager Group we have developed and designed acoustic ceiling panels from PET-plastic in the shape of PET-felt. We wanted to use PET-felt as an acoustic element, because of its acoustic properties, aesthetic potential and the obvious reduction of plastic waste in the environment. For every kilogram of plastic reused, the environment is spared 1.5 kilograms CO2. This is why it makes such good sense to reuse and recycle plastic.
