Made of Air
Improving value chain CO2 in the built environment, at no extra cost.
The base material has removed more CO2 from the atmosphere than it has emitted in making it. This is a global first: removing the most CO2 of any building product available. The conversion of CO2 to C is an exothermic process, releasing energy in the form of heat. This heat can be stored or converted into electrical energy. As a thermoplastic, the base material can be formed into custom designs. At the product's end of life, it can be shredded and landfilled, completing the carbon loop. Or, it can be reformed into new products. The base material is composed of no fossil-based components. Instead, it is formed of waste biomass that has been baked into a solid char- where the CO2 is converted into carbon. By repurposing and eventually landfilling, the material completes a larger circle: the carbon loop, returning the carbon we originally burned into the atmosphere, back to the ground.
