Field Ready
Gets people what they need, where they need it, when they need it via hyper-local manufacturing.
Field Ready is a non-profit service design model focused on disrupting traditional supply chains and mindsets deployed in areas of crisis. It comprises a team of humanitarian makers, a process to evaluate people and solutions to deploy post-disaster, a growing collection of digital manufacturing tools to accelerate action, and a toolkit of methods and toolsets that empower underserved communities to feel agency in their own recovery. Field Ready's focus is to shift from aid to trade where new forms of hyper-local manufacturing, like 3D printing, radical upcycling approaches, & desktop injection molding are deployed in field and human-centered design methods are used to engage, listen, and co-create novel solutions where and when they are needed. Local are trained to manufacture their own solutions and ultimately can shift from being victims to being agents of their own success. Field Ready creates everything from search and rescue tools, to replacement parts, to medical disposables.
