Ananas Anam receives backing from US-investor Beneficial Returns. The capital will be used to install five decorticators for “extracting the cellulose fibres from leaves”; a fundamental process for creating the Piñatex textile. Beneficial Returns, based in San Francisco, operates a debt investment fund providing loans for equipment related to sustainable agriculture, sustainable energy, waste reduction and poverty reduction in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
