Sampl
Self-sampling for cervical cancer screenings
Sampl is a self-sampling collection device that enables young women to begin the process of cervical screening through the detection of precancerous cells in urine.
1 in 3 women in the UK aged between 25-29 skip their cervical screening due to embarrassment. The stigma surrounding the invasive procedure is further triggered by other emotional barriers, such as fear of pain. This ergonomically prioritised product enables women to independently, and comfortably collect a urine sample within the comfort of their own space, to be securely sent for testing of precancerous cells.
Through the advancement in DNA testing technology, a 4ml urine sample is collected and combined with an existing 1ml of preservative that ensures the sample will sustain transportation and lab testing 48 hours after collection.
