Ara
A platform allowing users to experiment and produce products quicker and more flexibly
Ara is a platform that allows users to experiment with and produce unique products that bypass the traditional all-in-one manufacturing process. This nimble approach to development, with modular elements that facilitate upgrades and customizations, has inspired everything from a wearable that monitors patients’ biometrics and addresses them accordingly, to a robot printer that moves around a room, then scans and prints the surfaces it encounters.
It’s a World where product development is transformed from an expensive and slow-to-market process to one where products can be developed more easily, allow everyone to be more experimental and adaptable, and get products to market with less investment of time and money.
It would allow end users to have the freedom to create exactly the products they want, customize them over time and potentially reduce the amount of duplicate consumer electronics they own, delivering more innovative, flexible, democratic and sustainable products.
