What's new on the investment front for November?

November has been a big month for the DTIL Fund, with two new investments and lots of good news ― here are this past month's top five stories.

Piñatex attracts big names to their investor pool, such as professional footballer Chris Smalling. Smalling, in an exclusive interview with Forbes, revealed his high-profile investment into Ananas Anam, the company behind Piñatex, which he hopes will be the first of a "little portfolio".

Zipline partners with the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Naval Medical Research Center to test its drones for potential military applications. Four multinational military exercises were conducted, from July to September, where Zipline made more than 400 deliveries of mock health supplies.

what3words' Chief Commercial Officer Clare Jones joins the TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin - an event bringing together some of the world's most celebrated founders, investors, hackers and tech leaders. From December 11-12, participants can attend a wide range of panels, talks, interactive workshops, hackathons and more.

WeFarm announces their $13 million Series A round of funding. The peer-to-peer platform for small-scale farmers will use the money to improve their services and grow their user base. “This is probably the biggest industry on Earth, accounting for some 75-80% of the global supply chain, and yet no one has built anything for them,” CEO Kenny Ewan told TechCrunch.

Seaborg selected as one of 19 finalists for the EIT CHANGE Award. The European prize celebrates outstanding innovation in the fields of climate, energy, digitisation, food, health, and raw materials. The winners were announced at a ceremony in Budapest, attended by more than 400 leading entrepreneurs, innovators and policymakers.
