Round About
A mobile navigation service that helps victims relieve and overcome PTSD
How does it work?
Round About is an empathic solution that helps people with PTSD return to their daily lives. Based on keywords added by the user, it helps them avoid certain areas and places that can trigger reactions. The app then gradually expands the radius of action by continuously checking emotional status and steadily removing the assigned keywords.
Why is it needed?
Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been described as "the complex somatic, cognitive, affective, and behavioural effects of psychological trauma". Moderate quality evidence finds the lifetime worldwide prevalence of PTSD in the general population is around 3.9%. In people known to have been exposed to trauma, the rate is 5.6%. (NeuRA Library).
How does it improve life?
In development.
