Objects Matter
This design aims to redefine our objects consumption by involving people into defining use cases.
Matière d'Objet proposes to involve the user in the final destination of his objects, to make him active and aware of his needs. The products are industrially manufactured and sold by the meter. The final stage of cutting is left to the user, giving him the choice to shape his object in different uses. The user’s decisions are wider than a simple buying impulse : he appropriates Flexible Linear, in connection with his environment and his changes of mind. This work invites an active mental and material involvement. It is a learning process, with a social ambition towards consumers, which strives to awaken individuals and to familiarize them with a vision where the object is modifiable, adaptable, evolving, reparable and improvable. These notions can then spread to other objects in our environment, making us more responsible for our consumption and pushing us to adopt a more reasoned approach - freeing ourselves from a consumerist posture.
