Compact Fashion Factory
Non-toxic, waterless & CO2-reducing production of clothing = Rodinia’s Compact Fashion Factory.
A Compact Fashion Factory is designed to produce clothes locally, sustainably and ultra-fast (production down to 48 hours, reduces CO2, using no water, only eco-friendly fabrics and chemicals) and due to automation becomes economically viable for local production of clothing (e.g. in Denmark). Because of its speed, a Compact Fashion Factory enables supply to match demand. Thus providing a simple ‘ready-to-go’ solution for fashion brands to avoid overproduction of clothing. In comparison, today’s clothing factories are slow & outdated (6-9 months leadtime relying on models and machinery invented before the internet) while often being placed remotely in countries with poor living wages and lack of environmental politics. In short: production of clothes today is seldomly a good business and never sustainable. In alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 6,8,9,12 a Compact Fashion Factory is reinventing the way we make fashion.
