Sunne
Solar Design weaves energy into objects and buildings so they’ll become autonomous.
Today, solar is science. But why can’t energy be beautiful too? Solar is becoming our planet's cheapest source of energy and it will play a vital role in fighting our climate crisis. Solar technology has come a long way since the blue roof panelling we all know: Through innovative solar design, we can weave energy into buildings and objects to increase their functionality and transform how they look. To ensure global adaptation we need to change the shift from Solar Technology to Solar Design. What if we consider a building or object to be broken if it doesn’t generate its own energy? Sunne is a self-powered solar light that captures, stores and produces light indoors. By day, it harvests energy from the sun while it hangs by your window; at night, it brings sunlight into your home. Hang Sunne in front of your window and it will naturally harvest energy from the sun and store it in its integrated battery. As the evening gets darker, Sunne’s light will start to glow.
