Get the most out of your therapy
Every week more than 46,000 Australians use Medicare-funded mental healthcare through the Government’s Better Access program. Despite the number of people accessing mental health treatment, research shows that the level of psychological distress in our community hasn’t changed, and most alarmingly, suicide rates are on the rise. We want to reverse this trend. We know evidence-based therapy works. But for therapy to be effective at scale, Australians need to be given the tools, knowledge and support necessary to actively participate in their mental health care. Unfortunately, the way the system is designed isn’t setting people up for success. Australians visit their GP to get a referral but often leave without the tools and knowledge they need to engage with therapy and stick with it over time. We believe that if we support people through the current system - before, during, and after treatment - we can increase quality mental health outcomes and Government savings.
