The capsule was designed in mind with ease of use for the end consumer. Through the on demand nature of the capsule it provides greater compliance than traditional birth control pills. It can be applied before or during intercourse and it is not necessary to use every day at the same time.The product is based on a completely novel approach to birth control in which we reinforce the natural mucus barrier that exists in the cervical canal. We are developing molecules that interact with the mucus and thereby make ovulatory cervical mucus impenetrable for sperm cells. As the sperm cells are unable to enter the cervix (instead maintained in the vaginal cavity) the low pH environment of the vagina deactivates them.
