Randi Line L-bow
This elbow operated door handle prevents hand borne transferral of virus and bacteria.
The importance of good hand hygiene has become increasingly evident. Things touched by many people´s hands are a potential source of the spread of virus and bacteria. One such thing is a door handle. This inspired Mads Miltersen Architect and Designer MDD to design an aesthetic and simple handle, that makes it possible to open and close a door using your elbow instead of your hand. The goal was to develop a handle, that can be mounted on most existing door handles without the use of tools, nuts or bolts. The L-bow handle is made of just one plastic part and simply clicks onto an existing door handle. Mounting can be accomplished in a very short time by most people. No need for skilled workers or tools. Likewise L-bow handles can be removed just a easily for cleaning and leave no marks on the original grip. From the start focus has been on developing a handle for public institutions, hospitals and care centers but the handle can also come to good use in all public access buildings.
