Making Guns; The Plastic Baroque
Shoot yourself some new furniture.
James Shaw recently created a gun that turns thermoplastics into colorful, playful furniture.
Based on the idea of sustainability, the gun is a thought-provoking way that can create a finished piece without creating more waste.
The plastic-extrusion guns turns the extrusion of polymers into a handheld function, rather than sending it to be done in factories. It joins a papier-mâché and a pewter gun in the designer’s new line, The Plastic Baroque.
Plastic Baroque is, in the end, about sustainability. It is part of a larger, recycling focused design movement, which also includes Dave Hakkens’ Precious Plastics project.
