Singaporean based Skygreens is the world’s first low carbon, hydraulic water-driven vertical farm. In hopes of curbing the concerning statistic that only seven percent of vegetables consumed in Singapore are locally grown, the farm grows tropical vegetables using safe and sustainable production methods. The vertical systems are 9m in height and are housed in protected-outdoor green houses, allowing vegetables to be grown all year round at significantly higher yields than traditional growing methods. The system also uses minimal land, water and energy resources – making it the ultimate urban farming solution.
