3D printed compostable outfit
World’s first 3D printed menswear outfit in compostable filament
This 3D-printed clothing collection is made from biodegradable bioplastic filament and can be recycled to the compost heap, where it decomposes naturally. Mats Beckman was awarded KADK’s UN Sustainable Development Award for his graduation project entitled “Eureka! Eureka!” in which he couples traditional craft such as Japanese woodblock printing with the newest technology in 3D printing bioplastic filament. The techniques developed in the project are an innovative contribution to rethinking the general production system in the fashion industry.
