The players of women’s team Camden Town Football Club are set to raise a glass to International Women’s Day by donning a shirt designed by female-focused illustrator Bodil Jane, featuring the faces of four famous women who lived and worked in the area. Money raised by replica shirt sales will go to the Fawcett Society, a London-based charity which focuses on gender equality and women’s rights. On Bodil’s illustrated kit noted poet Sylvia Plath finds herself situated next to Dame Barbara Hepworth and celebrated novelist Buchi Emecheta. Another dame, Millicent Garrett Fawcett – founder of the eponymous charity – rounds the highly creative quartet of Camden’s finest.
