GOMI
a dung-collection device
GOMI is a dung-collection device designed to improve on current methods while safeguarding Indian tradition. Women throughout rural India collect cow dung each day. They generally do this by hand, depositing the dung into shallow metal buckets. GOMI’s two-part design introduces a sanitary scraper to push the dung from the ground into a dedicated basket – similar to a dustpan and brush. The scraper then attaches to the front of the basket to prevent spillage during transportation. By reducing direct contact with fresh manure and making collected dung easier to carry, GOMI improves on tradition while remaining faithful to it.
