An Immersive Walk-Through of Diabetes in 2030
The design builds patient empathy and provides a future vision of living with diabetes in 2030
Diabetes is a global epidemic affecting 400 million people globally and continuing to expand on a massive scale. Novo Nordisk knows more about that than anybody. However, with more than 90 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care, Novo Nordisk is also aware of the fact that the complex future challenges of diabetes need to be solved by collaborating broadly across businesses and industries. Novo Nordisk asked Fjord to help them design a summit experience, that would create empathy for people living with diabetes, shining a light on the daily challenges and choices they face, and giving a qualified look into the future of managing the disease.
The two rooms were set up so one would help build empathy for patients with type-2 diabetes, and the other to imagine a context where underlying systems make it easier for people to stay healthy. After the summit, the future rooms were available for all Novo Nordisk employees to visit, extending the experience to 40K+ employees.
