Sector Azul, an adventure to learn figurative language
Board Game that helps children with Asperger's syndrome to understand figurative language
Asperger's syndrome is a disorder that is detected in early childhood. People with this syndrome are characterized by a great social disability, mental inflexibility and difficulty understanding emotions, jokes, ironies and double meanings. Psychotherapeutic techniques specialized in this type of children are scarce. In the case of Chile, there is no material available for mental health therapists, parents or educators who face the challenge of treating a child with Asperger's Syndrome and specific language disorders. The present project aims to provide a tool that facilitates the teaching, learning and understanding of figurative language with the aim that children with Asperger's syndrome can improve their social skills and generate a greater autovalence in their future. Sector Azul teaches you to understand figurative language phrases like "I'm freezing" or "I'm dying of heat".
