MoSan is an ecological sanitation solution for emergencies and humanitarian aid in developing countries. The global sanitation crisis and 2.6 billion people with no access to safe sanitation are increasing the demand for rapid-deployable and feasible solutions. MoSan consists of a sanitation service and a compact mobile dry-toilet that is implemented in partnership with aid organizations using Design Thinking. The MoSan service enables the recycling of human excreta and therefore creates value and income sources for the local population. All MoSan products were designed in collaboration with affected people and combine function, quality, aspirational design and affordability. There are no adequate urine-diverting toilets for in-home use in emergencies yet. MoSan is revolutionizing this by using an innovative Design Thinking approach and involving affected people and stakeholders in the development process. MoSan improves live and protects the environment in a sustainable way.
