Dignity Vending Machine
The Dignity Vending Machine (DVM) dispenses free sanitary items to homeless and at-risk Australians.
Share the Dignity's vision is that no one suffers the indignity of having to choose between eating and and buying sanitary products. The DVM is a frontline attempt at reducing stress and embarrassment for homeless and at-risk women by dispensing a free "period pack" containing 2 pads and 4 tampons once every 10 minutes. In addition to the period packs, we have partnered with Ask Izzy and 1800RESPECT to provide information on homelessness, family violence and sexual assault services that are available to those who use, or simply encounter the DVM when facing hardship.
