3D Printed Gaze Actuated Wearable
3D printed clothes that responses to other people's gaze
What if your clothing was truly a second skin that interacted with your environment? Sponsored by Autodesk and Madworkshop Foundation, Caress of the Gaze is a project in which a 3D-printed garment responds to other people’s glances with lifelike movements. An image-sensing camera detects specifics about a viewer, including gender and age; this data is then wirelessly transferred to a microcontroller that directs the garment’s Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) actuators to expand, contract and create motion as if they’re a natural part of the wearer’s muscle system responding to stimuli. Imagine the possibilities of flirting with your clothes - we're gonna be like peacocks!
