Progressive Shelter System
A concept for hurricane crisis response

Successive hurricanes in Guatemala have demonstrated the need for an emergency shelter response system, rather than ad hoc solutions like plastic sheeting or schools and churches. The main object of the project is to facilitate coordination of efforts, resources and investments. Relevant organizations can now join forces to have a full progressive response plan in place for when the next crisis strikes. The response plan includes sanitation, water supply and a type of housing, which unites initial emergency response investments with the country's need for long term living quarters.
