Nomination of the Week: Paper Pulp Printer
3D printing gets a sustainable upgrade
A Dutch design student has come up with a 3D printer that uses paper instead of plastic. The papers fibrous make-up leads to surprisingly strong objects and by using a natural binder, the products are entirely recyclable. According to designer Beer Holthuis, printing with paper instead of plastic filament would also mean that the item could be broken down with water and the pulp potentially used again.
