Nomination of the Week: Living Seawall
Can shoreline biodiversity help save our oceans?

Installed along the coast of Sydney's harbour, the Living Seawall is designed to improve local biodiversity and water quality. Developed by Volvo in partnership with the Sydney Institute of Marine Science and Reef Design Lab, the wall consists of 50 3D-printed tiles made with reinforced concrete and recycled plastic. The design mimics the root structure of mangrove trees to attract wildlife such as oysters and molluscs, which clean the water by filtering out pollutants.
