πŸ“† Event series: Designing the New Usual
Our event series with Designit on turning buzzwords into business as usual

We’re proud to announce our first event series done in collaboration with our good friends at Designit. Through four online events, follow-up articles and online catch-ups, Designing the New Usual is all about inspiring actual change and helping businesses take further steps towards a new business as usual.

As we know, business these days comes with a lot of buzzwords that are great conversation starters but solemnly good deal-closers. We talk about diversity, sustainability and life-centred design, but how do we move from good intentions to no-brainer actions in the workplace? How can we create inspired communities of change-makers? What will be the motivation to take that first or next step towards more sustainable ways of doing business?

The event series ‘Designing the New Usual’ goes beyond the buzzwords to nurture the seeds of change. We invite you to join us as we highlight, dissect and introduce ideas to help businesses tune in to a new agenda.

“There’s a great synergy between ours and Designit’s values, that calls for us to collaborate on further change within business. We really want to turn the buzzwords and trends into sustainable actions for our global and local communities,” says Liza Chong, CEO of The Index Project.

"I believe the partnership between Designit and Index represents a great opportunity for us to inspire the design community to create real change." - Mads Kjøller Damkær, Design Director at Designit

Featuring panel discussions and interviews with design thinkers, business leaders and experienced do’ers, we want to inspire and connect like-minded people with an urge for change. Under the topics of ‘Leadership’, ‘Sustainability’, ‘Diversity’ and ‘Life-centred design’, we aim to inspire the first steps toward eco-friendly practices, diversity initiatives, better leadership and a people-focussed approach. Furthermore, each event will be kicked off with an article on each topic and followed up by sum-ups and online talks.

“With 50 years of combined experience working within the Danish design tradition, I believe the partnership between Designit and Index represents a great opportunity for us to inspire the design community to create real change,” says Design Director at Designit Mads Kjøller Damkjær.

“Looking back, both organisations have managed to continuously create global impact by challenging status quo with clients and businesses around the globe. Looking to the future, we both have a strong desire to change the world by pushing for circular changes and sustainable solutions. By joining forces, I believe we can create a significant impact.”

The event series will be hosted by Designit’s Global Content Lead Phil Hall and streamed from our studio in BLOX, Copenhagen Denmark to our global audiences. Be sure to keep yourself updated on the event series through our newsletter, and stay tuned for the announcement of our first event (May 12th 15:00 CEST) next week!
