Traditional ergonomics is a qualitative science, making the consequence of ergonomic decisions difficult to assess. The AnyBody Modelling System's software for simulation of human movement permits quantification of ergonomics. This makes it possible to compute the optimum position of a saddle on a bicycle, the ideal position for a handle on a machine, or a body-compatible incline mechanism in the backrest of a chair.
