What began as an academic collaboration project between Lund University and NASA Johnson Space Center, inspired the Industrial Designer Mehrdad Mahdjoubi to create a design which applies the same principle you live by in Space; that Earthly resources should be used in the most efficient way possible. Designed with a closed loop recycling and purification system, SHOWER OF THE FUTURE makes comfortable showering possible with only 5 litres of water, resulting in up to over 90% water savings and 80% energy savings compared to conventional showers. Furthermore, since the shower uses a patented purification system, it guarantees filtration of viruses and bacterias such as legionella, which makes it successful to be used in regions where individuals have no access to a clean water supply.
