Blitab
World’s first tablet for the blind and visually impaired
Despite the prolific use of tablets today, there hasn’t been nearly any resources targeted towards the 285 million blind and visually impaired people in the world. The creators of Blitab have developed the first tablet that serves this specific group, opening up new opportunities for interacting with technology. Using new advancements, the smooth surface is transformed with small cylinders (similar to bubbles), rising out of the tablet to create text in Braille. When they are no longer needed, the bubbles are restored into the surface. This electronic book makes reading easy, accessible and mobile. Writing text is also simple with a Perkins keyboard.
