Flow Loop
A sustainable and retrofit showering solution that enables any household to save water and energy
How does it work?
After initiating the shower in the regular mode, all you need to do is step on the drain cover – which will automatically activate the circulation mode. Instead of letting all the warm water go to waste down the drain, Eco Loop recovers it from the floor and passes it through the filtration system, before recirculating it to your shower head cleaner than before and with 50% higher flow – while adding just a little bit of warm water to keep the temperature comfortable. The water you use will continuously circulate through the purifying filters and the ultrasonic descaler. Once you’re done, simply step on the drain cover again and after a few moments, the system will empty itself through an automatic back-flush. No water is shared between uses, so it is ready and clean for the next user. Our purification system has been tested under extreme circumstances and has been documentated by DTU (Technical University of Denmark) to be within the very best category of bathing water.
Why is it needed?
A standard shower head uses about 8-10 liters of water per minute, which means that during an average 8-minute shower, you let about 80 liters of that water go to waste down the drain. Because this system creates a circulating loop and adds only 1-2 l of warm water per minute to compensate for the heat loss during showering – so you use less than 16 liters of water for your eight minute shower. This makes an enormous difference for both the environment and your utility bills! Eco Loop also gives you an impressive water flow of up to 12 l/min (3,5 gal/min) – that’s 50% more than the flow of a normal water saving shower head.
The heating of shower water accounts for quarter of all a household’s heating costs. The same water accounts for 80% of all of the hot water consumption. Flow Loop wants to reduce unnecessary energy waste and introduce a new efficiency standard in the bathroom – providing 40C water from the shower head and circulation of the 35C water from the floor.
How does it improve life?
The Eco Loop saves valuable resources while ‘paying for itself’ through savings on utility bills. That’s sustainable and smart showering. By increasing the water pressure in the Eco Loop, you get a more comfortable shower that easily rinses shampoo from your hair – quite unlike most water-saving showers. Easy to install and easy to use, to meet changing needs of any household. You can even take it with you if you move.
