In March 2020, Grove Collaborative became the first and only plastic neutral retailer in the world and committed to becoming 100% plastic free by 2025 to address the global crisis around single use plastic. CPG companies are a major perpetrator of plastic pollution, with many products leaning into plastic packaging.
This fall, Grove launched the Beyond Plastic collection, their first-ever line of 21 entirely plastic-free cleaning products. The Beyond Plastic collection incorporates sustainable materials such as glass and aluminum to eliminate single-use plastic from typical household cleaners. For example, Grove’s cleaning concentrates and glass vessels save over 94% of plastic compared to single-use alternatives. Additionally, the Beyond Plastic collection is projected to save an additional 50,000 pounds of plastic in the first year of sales when paired with Grove’s glass spray bottles and soap dispensers.
