During the pandemic caused by covid-19, hundreds of thousands of corner stores had to close their doors as shopping habits changed overnight and they could not compete against the e-commerce platforms of large stores and supermarkets. Bavaria created Tienda Cerca, a platform that collected the data of the shopkeepers and through geolocation allowed people to find a nearby store, click on it and communicate with it through WhatsApp to stock up without leaving home. This initiative seeks to support these small businesses that have been affected during this crisis and provide a solution for Colombians to avoid leaving their homes. Tienda Cerca has more than 60 thousand registered stores and even developed in 14 countries.
