The owners of this bookshop were a couple who worked their way up from farmers. They understand the importance of knowledge. The main goal of this bookshop is to create a 24-hour space for local community to study and explore various academic fields. This place is more than a commercial bookshop, but a cultural centre with a lot of space for interaction including the tea room, coffee shop, tea shop, lecture and exhibition hall. Everyone is welcome here at anytime to self-learn or start a conversation with others. It is a safe haven for anyone looking for improvement and cultural awareness. This unique design derives from the concept of ‘staircase’. The steps would lead the readers up to the 4/F and provide some interesting things to browse along the way. These are also seats for guests to sit and read, which also encourages communication among them. There are three big sunken areas on the 1/F, where kids could take off their shoes and enjoy some reading time with their family.
