Spike - high performance activity aid
With brand and product identity, Spike is motivating physically challenged users to be more active.
During testing of the prototype of the activity aid Spike, Exero discovered a need for stronger emotional values in the product. Together with EGGS Design, they decided to lift Spike from activity aid to high-performance sports gear, through a strong product identity and a coherent brand. The results are already visible, as users are expressing their excitement and increased motivation. A mother of a young Spike user nicely put it. “I can finally see my son, and not just the mobility aid”, describing the pure joy and excitement exhibited by her son. To account for the vast array of variations in physique found in Spikes users, we developed smart mechanical adjustment principles, which also caters for the users to adjust Spike to different types of terrains or preferred spiking styles. Easy to use adjustment mechanisms and a folding function makes Spikes users less dependent on others. Spike is designed for mass production, reducing production cost, with an aim to the mainstream market.
