WINNER SG PTE LTD was incorporated in Singapore in the year 1993 with the principle objective of providing quality and affordable rehabilitation equipment so as to improve the quality of life of the elderly and physically challenged. In April 2013, it signed a Licensing Agreement with Nanyang Polytechnic to manufacture the World’s First Transfer Wheelchair. The Transfer Wheelchair was first shown to the world at Medica 2013 in Dusseldorf Germany. Since then, inquiries and orders are coming in from Europe, United States, and the Asia-Pacific region. In most of the wheelchairs, the rear wheel is obstructing placement of Transfer Board which is often used during the lateral transfer. To make transfer easier for wheelchair users, researchers at Nanyang Polytechnic Singapore developed a wheelchair with a retractable wheel.
