UNIFOLD
UNIFOLD explores ways to construct recyclable footwear with a one-piece die cut pattern.
Over 300 million people in developing nations lack even a pair of shoes. Unifold hopes to solve the world-wide shoe shortage crisis by its design that enables easy manufacturing and distribution. The Unifold shoe is made from one piece of recyclable material that takes shape by folding over the cut-out pattern. It is affordable, easy to construct, and also reduces the complicated procedures of shoe manufacture. It simply is a pattern that can be applied to any sheet of foam rubber and then folded to create a shoe.
