This novel washing up bowl helps to improve the life of those suffering from back and shoulder pain when washing dishes. Postu takes the notion of the everyday wash bowl and makes critical design changes in order to improve the users’ posture and to reduce slouching, and the negative effect this has on the users’ spine. Research with end users revealed that a raised base ensures users’ hands and arms are not over reaching, nor creating an arch in the back and shoulders, and so in turn, improving posture, comfort and reduced back pain. The built in cutlery sections in the rear of the bowl allow for cutlery to be stored there which improves safety with regards to sharps being concealed in unknown locations below the water line. This feature allows the user to soak cutlery while washing is in progress.? Cleverly, this feature does not inhibit optimal product nesting for transport and distribution. This innovative design is patented.
