Extentproject
Customizable bags out of abandoned tents after festivals
How does it work?
The project's creators collect abandoned tents after festivals in order to make products to sell as sustainable merchandising at the next festival edition in a circular way. They use tent details to create their design. Each bag is unique with its own story, by printing the festival logo and a funny message on it, Extent add value to the products.
Why is it needed?
It has long been known that the ecological footprint of music festivals is huge, with a lot of rubbish produced in a few days. Festival organisers are trying to make the infrastructure as conscious as possible through various recycling methods. But there is not much they can do with the tents left over after parties, often thousands of them. The Extentproject aims to solve this problem.
How does it improve life?
Extent's mission is to raise awareness about festival waste aiming to prevent people from creating more trash. They don't encourage abandoning tents in any way, according to them tents must be reused as tents. Their vision is based on the 4R of sustainability: Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle.
