RE:Ukraine
temporary shelter complex near Kyiv to house locals while their homes are being rebuilt
How does it work?
1. Real model A pilot project is required to showcase a model residential section, test the pace of construction, experiment with several construction technologies, and measure assemble and disassemble cycles. 2. Analysis The trial project will allow us to get honest feedback from the people we initially created RE:Ukraine for. Our team will be analyzing how residents interact with both each other and the space and optimizing the project considering their comments. 3. Experiment The pilot will also help us test different construction technologies and find the best option in terms of time, labor costs, and energy efficiency.
Why is it needed?
Re:Ukraine housing scheme is designed to offer "dignified" long-term accommodation for those who have fled to the relative safety of western Ukraine.
How does it improve life?
Located between the cities of Bucha and Irpin, the short-term housing scheme is set to accommodate between 1,300 or 5,000 people left dispossessed in the region, which was heavily damaged by Russian troops as they attempted to storm the Ukrainian capital.
