Danish Strategy for Digital Welfare
a strategy to accelerate the use of ICT and welfare technology in frontline public service delivery
The Danish government, Local Government Denmark and Danish Regions have jointly launched a common public sector Strategy for Digital Welfare (2013-2020). The aim of the strategy is to accelerate the use of ICT and welfare technology in frontline public service delivery. Specifically, concrete initiatives and objectives in the strategy will speed up the use of efficient and effective digital and technological solutions in healthcare, care for the elderly, social services and education. Also, the strategy must ensure that the public sector continually acquires new knowledge of the effects of digital technologies. And it includes a plan for testing promising technologies quickly to determine whether it would be advantageous to use them throughout Denmark.
