AsthmaTuner is a complete system for patients and caregivers that contains everything needed to keep this chronic disease under control - leaving healthcare providers with more time and resources for the patients that need the most help and asthmatics who can live lives that are no longer hindered by debilitating symptoms. One user, an 8-year old child, can for example now play basketball for a whole hour when a year before using AsthmaTuner could barely run 10 meters. A heritage in Swedish specialist healthcare and human-centered design means AsthmaTuner has a genuine understanding of the needs of both sides of the equation: patients and caregivers. The user experience goes beyond tracking symptoms and lung function. Because it aims to help treat a life-long illness, we have to ensure that every function we offer in the service changes attitudes and behaviors by shifting focus from treating symptoms after-the-fact to helping users find motivation to think more proactively.
