Created in response to the many low-income senior citizens who have difficulty acquiring necessities during the COVID-19 pandemic, LifeCrates was launched to provide those in need with subsidized food crates that are delivered to their homes by volunteers. The non-profit was originally created by social activist Adam Zivo, who worked alongside a team of dieticians to come up with a box that would include a month's worth of food while sticking to senior nutrition guidelines. Each box also comes with information to help seniors plan out meals using the products in the box so that they can get the most out of it. LifeCrates was recently launched in Toronto, and is available to low-income seniors who are 65 and older.
