Mask Stool
A stool made from brewery waste
The Mask stool is designed by the Danish architect Eva Harlou. The design is the result of a new pioneering production method that enables us to use waste from Carlsberg's beer production - used grain - and transform it unique design solutions. In collaboration with the Danish Technological Institute, we've developed a new industrial technology for waste treatment, e.g. used grain from beer production along with other fibre-based waste materials. After many years of research and testing, we managed to treat the waste material and mix it with industrial plastic waste in a unique compound suitable for casting. The mask stool demonstrates waste-to-value technology and a solution to reuse corporate resources more efficiently and take care of Mother Earth and the next generations. Mask stool is adjustable in height and thereby and flexible furniture.
