During the Covid-19 pandemic, the shortage of personal protection elements and the discomfort of their use puts medical personnel at risk. PersoCO seeks to protect emergency responders, healthcare workers and other industrial sectors who remain on the front lines. In order to give continuity to the work developed in England from the University of SouthHampton with PerSo: a respirator designed for health workers with which it is sought to replace some personal protection elements such as face masks and masks, it was proposed from the Faculty of Engineering an agreement with the Design Department of the Universidad de los Andes, to develop a local version of the English proposal: PersoCO. Its design is local and is made with washable and reusable materials available in the country. PersoCo is the result of a collaborative work between engineers and designers in search of achieving a functional, comfortable and attractive model.
