Jouten is a Helsinki based design studio focused on 100% reused hotel textiles in experimental clothing and accessories handmade in Finland in limited quantities. Founded and run by designer duo Emmi Lonka and Eljas Pajamies, Jouten shifts perspectives through contemporary comfort living. Sparked by the idea of creativity emerging from admitted boredom, Jouten is focused on the appreciation of endless novelty in everyday ordinariness. The outcome is defined by Emmi and Eljas’ fascination towards up-cycling customary and ostensibly boring materials for intriguing repurposed use. The duo collaborate with hotels and create their limited edition unisex capsules from 100% remnant textiles and fabric sourced from hotels, thereby adhering to philosophies of circularity and zero waste.
