Project Stealth
In-mouth wearables for identification and health monitoring
Project Stealth was born from an experimental project when we were studying in the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. With our mouth interface working prototype and supported by InnovationRCA, we registered our first patent. The team then evolved into a startup where we are actively working on the prototype iterations and further exploration of mouth interfaces.
The mouth is home to a couple of biometrics. Studies have shown that tongue print, teeth, palate rugae and even saliva can be used as biometrics for identifying people. In our research of using a mouth wearable as the future authentication interface, we proposed a method of scanning the user's palate, a hidden and secure biometric inside the mouth.
Besides biometrics, another exciting potential of the mouth is the saliva biomarkers. The data from your saliva is a mirror of your physical and mental health.
